We are pumped about this Easter weekend. We have 4 services – 4 opportunities to celebrate the cross and resurrection.
Don’t miss our Good Friday service tomorrow, April 2 @ 7 PM. You’ll see a dramatic reenactment of the Last Supper, the arrest of Jesus, and his crucifixion.
We’ll then have three identical Easter worship opportunities Saturday, April 3 @ 7 PM and Sunday, April 4 @ 9:15 and 11 AM.
Don’t let this weekend go by. Easter is more important than Spring Break! Invite someone and just maybe, just maybe a life will be changed for eternity.
#4 – Pastor Charles Green – Saturday, May 1st @ 10 AM and Sunday, May 2nd at 9:15 and 11 AM.
Pastor Charles is in his 86th year but he is still as sharp and on fire as he has ever been. Pastor Charles spent most of his ministry pastoring Word of Faith Church in New Orleans, raising it up to well over 3,000 members. He also served on the Board of Regents at Oral Roberts University. Saturday’s meeting will be a brunch and a time teaching for all of our volunteers. What a privilege to have this great man of God with us.
#3 – The Jared Anderson Concert – Sunday, April 11th at 6 PM
May be you’re saying, “So. Who’s Jared Anderson?” Jared’s songs have been recorded and performed by the likes of the David Crowder band. His worship songs are sung around the world. He’ll be at Victory’s Crossing for a FREE, that’s right, FREE concert. Seating is limited, so get there early.
This service will remember the crucifixion and death of Jesus. An inspiring message will help us see what the cross means for you and I today. There will be communion, worship, and a reenactment of the crucifixion.
#2 – Easter Celebration Services – Saturday, April 3rd at 7 PM and Sunday April 4th at 9:15 and 11 AM
These will be three identical services. That means this year you can celebrate Easter on Saturday night! Each service will feature a dramatic production called Stories that really makes Jesus resurrection come to life. Number 3 and 4 to come tomorrow. Stay tuned….
Jared Anderson is one of the leading worship artists in the church today. His songs, such as “Rescue” and “Amazed”, are sung in churches around the world. Jared was a student at Oral Roberts University when I was on staff there 10 years ago as the Director of Music Ministries. I knew he was extremely gifted back then but I couldn’t see at that time the great plans God had for his music.
I received a surprise call from Jared yesterday. That blew me away, but what he had to say next really knocked me over. He and his band asked if they could come to our church for a worship concert Sunday night, April 11th. I said, “Most definitely!”
Help us spread the word about this upcoming night of music ministry. We hope to pack the house out. This will be a FREE concert event. Check out Jared’s music video below and visit his website at jaredanderson.com.
Crocodile Dock is the name of our Wednesday Vacation Bible School program, and it’s been rocking! A motivated, energetic, enthusiastic group of volunteers has come together to make this the best VBS we’ve ever had. Kids are learning that our God is powerful and that He keeps his promises.
We only have two more Wednesdays and it’s not too late to come. Just register your child between the ages of 3 to 12 on our website. Check out the video below to get a glimpse of the fun.
Churches today are doing all they can to appear hip, cool, and mainstream. Everything from the music, the decor, the clothes that the pastoral team wears on stage, the hair, the audio visual, all of it aims to reach a culture in tune with the main stream. I’m OK with that. I’ll preach with my shirt tale untucked if I have to.
But I still think Vacation Bible School is hip, and I think so for the following reasons.
1. It gives adults, most of whom spent their day in a cubicle, staring at a computer screen, a chance to be a kid again. Acting goofy once and a while is a healthy thing.
2. It’s an opportunity for the church to all work together. Every volunteer has a critical role to fill. You have to get your hands dirty and participate whole-heartedly. Sounds like the Body of Christ at work to me.
3. VBS is a wonderful time to meet new friends, as you serve along side one another. It brings the church closer together.
4. VBS is a an opportunity for outreach. New faces WILL walk through the door that have never been in church before.
5. Kids learn that serving Jesus is the greatest thing they could do with their lives. They’ll learn that He is the Savior. Some will pray to receive Christ and be forever changed.
6. Kids see that serving Jesus is a blast, while realizing the church can be a fun place that really cares for them.
7. Finally, our VBS this year I hear has some really tasty snacks for us all to enjoy.
We had a great VBS training last Wednesday night. I’ve posted a video of that here for you to see. Check it out.
Also, it’s not too late for you to register. You can do that online at – www.victoryscrossing.com.
